The High Street Bar & Grill is located in Wingate, Indiana on High Street (really) just West of SR 25. It's about 2 miles South of the Tippecanoe/Montgomery County Line, or about 12 miles South of Westpoint. The interior is all new and very nicely done and is a lot bigger than what it looks like from the outside. It has a pleasant atmosphere and is a great place to party. This is not your usual small town bar!

The Redwood Lodge is a pretty nice place to enjoy a good steak or wild game. They are a Microbrewery with excellent be ales, as well as liquor and wines. Part of the Redwood Lodge is called the Redwood Lodge Old Sequoia Lounge. This is where I have often gone to enjoy Spirits (I like a good single malt scotch myself), and enjoy my cigars with friends that also enjoy the better things in life. They do not seem to have a website, but you can view info about them at: http://www.flintfood.com/rw.htm.This site also has links to the Sequoia Lounge and the Brewery.

MISSOURI - SPRINGFIELD

Schultz & Dooley's and Uncle Bentley's

Lt. Ed writes: There are 3 locations of "Schultz & Dooley's" in Springfield, MO that keep a small humidor behind the bar with some good smokes. Also, Uncle Bentley's in Springfield, MO. I don't think they sell cigars, but the bartender will have a very nice cigar ashtray in front of you about 3 seconds after he sees your cigar. Both establishments will offer a cutter and matches, without request, and both are full of "spirits, diversions, and dames".

PHILADELPHIA - PENNSYLVANIA

Lt. CoffeePilot writes: It is above the Holt's cigar company store. Holt's has a great store full of almost every cigar you can think of, but they are not open evenings. A separate entrance takes you to Mahogany, seen on the website: http://www.phillycigarbar.com Doorway leads to steps which ascend to a dark lounge filled with dark, rich woods, a full bar, overstuffed leather smoking chairs and a roaring fireplace in season. A cigar girl will take your drink order, offer a cigar tray, (stocked from their small humidor) and will sometimes even light your cigar! It's located in Center city on Walnut st., west of Broad. Since this is restaurant row, easy to find dining before or after cigars. They do offer a small bar menu. |
